We have had the boiler since Thanksgiving and my husband and I finally got it running Sunday night! It took us all day…and thank goodness we did - it is awfully cold in the wind today! Yeah for HEAT! It smells so yummy. It makes me hungry for s’mores!

Karma SUCKS! So yesterday - I cashed in my little jar of change for our upcoming vacation….and the bank’s machine was off. Somewhere during the day it went wrong and they didn’t notice until they dumped in my coin. Long story short - I ended up leaving with $160 more than I should have had cause they had to pay what the machine said….Fast forward to this morning - Yankton County is now getting that money cause I got pulled over for expired plates. Damn rain washing my plates clean…Damn Karma for giving my money to such a crappy cause!  Ba Humbug!

Thanksgiving is my husband’s favorite holiday. These are his reasons why:

1. No presents - no crappy gift that will upset me
2. No decorating - won’t forget to put up the lights and upset me
3. No church - can’t show up late if we don’t have to go, thus won’t upset me!

Sit, eat, nap….according to my husband - how can Thanksgiving not be your favorite holiday?!?!

Cause I am the one that gets to cook, clean & complain - though I do that quite regularly

I don’t particularly care for gobs of makeup….but in the glossy magazines I flip through - that generally make me hate myself - I find I wish I could wear the smokey eyes or colorful shadows those gals wear. So I went out - bought one of those colorful makeup kits….and tried it out today! I still couldn’t go too heavy on the color - but be honest….do I look like a clown? I mean more than usual!?!?!

Or do I need a whole lot more?

It is my first Christmas in our new house and since it feels like Christmas time inside at 43 degrees - I figured it was ok to look like it too! Thought - as we were discussing holiday decorating (my husband and I) decided that the current tree is too large for the living room….as we won’t be able to see out the nice bay window. So we came to the agreement that we - more I - will be putting up two trees! I bought a skinner, REVOLVING tree and decorated it in blue, green & white…and the original big tree will go in the dinning room with out family ornaments!

The lights I bought for the tree have a  REMOTE!!! How lazy are we all that we can’t bend down and unplug the things!!! AAAHHHH! I thought it looks pretty though - and the icicles in the window look like they are dripping! LED lights are so cool!!!

We took the Mamma’s to Reba last night at the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, IA. Kenny brought his Mamma Bass…and I brought no only my Mamma Michele, I also brought my Mamma-in-law Susan! My sister-in-law Kate came too! It was a really great night out with the girls (and Kenny)!

I took these during the windy days Oct 6th - but what a great sunset I captured! Far too often I am taking pictures of other farms in the sunset cause I am standing in my yard - but this time - I was in the field taking photos of harvest and captured this great shot of the sunset and our windmill!

It is Dear Diary Day…and I have been reading excerpts from Kenny’s Diary. Here are just a few!

January 1st, 1995
Grandma gave me this journal for Christmas. It is now 20 minutes past midnight and it has been a terrible New Year so far. I wish something exciting would happen to me. I wish I had a girlfriend.

May 16th, 1997
Alaina and I are in love! It is official! She told Kenzie VanGerpen, who told Jason, who told me.
I told Jason to tell Kenzie to tell Alaina that I return her love. I am over the moon with joy and butterflies. I can overlook the fact that Alaina plays the piano and has her own lighter. When you are in love such things don’t matter.

February 23rd, 2008
OK. It’s the end of February. No morekidding around! You have to go outwith someone! You haven’t gone out with someone since the summer! At least fool around with someone! Come on! You’ve got it in ya!

We didn’t have school because of the snow today. I miss Scott. I don’t know why, because I’ve seen him all week except for today. P.S. Please help me to be more mature and help me to fill out my bra.
